Langkawi the Duty Free Island, Langkawi Part 10

Langkawi the Duty Free Island, Langkawi Part 10

Langkawi is a duty free port, As compared to mainland Malaysia, Food is more Expensive (especially if compared with Kedah and Perlis), But Alcohol as in beers and liquor is much Cheaper, Cars (foreign branded) is almost half price or even cheeper, Batiks, Crockery’s, cook ware is, also much cheaper as compared with the rest of Malaysia.

So we went crazy over beers, Tiger, Carlsberg, only cost RM1.60 in the retail shops, Imported beers RM3.50 and so on. As such we decided to try out beers and drinks that cost more the RM7 on the Main land or Brands we have not heard about.

Our Tour guide have a joke. In Langkawi, if you Drink Tiger/Carlsberg Beer you are low class, If you consume fruit juice you are middle class and You are High Class when you partake Mineral Water……

We rented a Car, book for a Proton and was given a new (1 year plus) Nissan Sentra (1.6 lt petrol engine) fr only RM80 a day, Some local told us that this the cheapest car in langkawi (for its category) at Around RM46K

Woman folks have a nice time shopping for crockery, batik cloth, gamat (sea cucumber) medications and so on.
