This is one of the hotel I have chance to visit in detail, Located very near to the Airport (a 5min drive) it has around 150 rooms with around half built over the calm sea, within a breakwater, a manmade lagoon.

Penang Latest Hotel – Budget - EQ Ferrnighi Hotel.

It’s good news for the Budget / Backpack Travellers who is looking for accommodation in Batu Ferringhi In Penang.

Penang Batu Ferringhi town is evolving, from what was basically a 4 star stretch of Beach Hotels with some beach comber type of establishment with upmarket restaurant, Batu Ferringhi is moving more towards Patong Beach environment where there are shops and stalls offering tourist and local facilities as hawker food for all price range. This has been happening over the past few year, and it’s a move in the right direction.

A new budget hotel has just open up, in my estimate its around a 30 to 40 room, located at some 8 shop houses located some distance away from the beach, “hidden” from the main road. Its opening rates is an affordable RM88/- per nite, I have not gone in to look at the rooms but from what I can see outside it’s not bad, especially now with the authorities moving part of the Pasar Malam to the car park just opposite this budget hotel. Now tourist do have a choice.

While waiting for the results I walk around the resort, The Bukit Jawi Golf Resort, Penang. Its a beautiful resort, Palm Trees of various types, beautiful flowers and the fabulous beautiful pool the resort have!

Again with Panoman application of my N82, I took a panoramic photo of the pool, Look like with panoman I have to take photos around 1 to 2 pm as the contrast between photos can be seen.

Batu Ferringhi Beach - Bayview Beach Hotel

Bayview Beach Hotel, a special hotel to me as I work in this hotel some 15 years back, at that time this hotel was categorize as a 5 star. Now in 2009 it has been categorize as a 4 star hotel. I wounder why? For me there have been much changes to this place and its for the better.

Lone Pine Hotel is one of the original "hotels" that is located on Batu Feringghi Beach, Penang. and it have been lovingly refurbished. Yes I said refurbish not renovated.

That by it self is a Plus point for this hotel, For those who want colonial days feel in a holiday in Penang, this the hotel to stay in. Currently it seem to be attracting more Caucasian tourists then others.
It retains its olden day charm, amiss it open grounds. While walking on the Beach I took the opportunity to snap a few photos. What I like about it is the Breakfast area that is practically on the beach. though i feel that its some what spoilt by the tent.

“Fantasy” Island of Malaysia

A Travel agent friend of mine ask me to accompany him and play photographer to a resort in Langkawi, I ask him which one, he then said “a Private Island Resort”, I said “ there is no private island in Langkawi “. He laugh and said “follow me, you will love it there”.

Well I stand corrected, there is a Private Island Resort in Malaysia and it is Rebak Island Resort, own by the Taj International and it is own 390 acres Private Island, 80 plus room and suites with 5 star facilities and a marina. A Fantasy Island in Malaysia so to speak, where you arrive by the private hotel speed boat. For those in their 40’s you might remember the TV Fantasy Island.

Other facilities in the hotel include A Free Form swimming pool right at the beach........ Why would anyone want to use the pool? That is one part I do not understand, the beach and the sea here is lovely, unspoilt, why jump in to the pool? Further as I said there is no beach boys to hassle you.

There is a Indian Restaurant as well as the Coffee House, here you will get to indulge yourself with 5 star cuisine found in only in International Hotels ........

And you get Relax the night away at the Resort Unique bar. Don’t forget this is a duty free island .......
