Photo 1 -

At Gurney Drive I tried out the Nokia 5800 and snap this long range shot of the Night Lights of Tanjung Tokong, Photo Recrop to Zoom in to the lights. Result just dots of lights only

Photo 2 –

A Mid Range shot of Evergreen Hotel frontage, Not too bad.

Photo 3

Another Long Range shot of the “New” Flamingo Hotel and Paradise Hotel signboard. I recrop the photo to zoom in to the signboard lights only. There is camera shake (Hand held shot) and you can see that it grainy

Verdict

For Night Shots, go for Short Range only with the Nokia 5800, and if there is a bit of light so much the better, Nite Mode is compulsory. other then that you are wasting time and effort

Lesson One, Long Range Night Shot do not work well, use your super zoom camera.

Lesson Two, Mid Range is OK , and will work best if there is a little bit of light.

Lesson Three. Long Range Night Shot need tripod, your hands are not steady enough.
