A Nokia 5800 Review - Bundle Games Review

@snapshots

There are many reviews of the Nokia 5800 out there, after all it’s not the latest phone on the market, if you want specification, tech details etc you have many many web sites out there. In my blog I will talk about the living with the device, how to set it up, how to use it for one own amusement, after all having spend a good sum of money on it, make full use of it as a eye candy or as best it can function.

In this first post, I will look at the fun part which is the games, which I believe is the main reason why a person purchase a smart phone now a days.

The Nokia 5800 comes preloaded with a few games, found in the Apps folder. We have

1. Bounce

2. Racing Thunder Global Racing

3. Guitar Rock

4. Asphalt 4 Elite Racing

5. DJ Mix Tour

Bounce, almost every review has its picture so it’s in most of the 5800 phones. Well you use the touch screen to control, push forward to go forward, pull backward to slow down, and more right and left. Tap the screen to Bounce! The Game is all about chasing this square object along a path which is high in the air. Miscontrol, your ball will drop off the path thus losing a life. Along the path, there are what I call “eggs” for you to bum into to gain points. At the end of the path there are certain challenges for you to go through. A simple game, A highly addictive game I believe, not for some past time, but for some serious gaming right into the night depleting you phone batteries.

Racing Thunder Global Racing, make use of Bluetooth to connect to other device, so it has multiplayer mode with other who have the same game. (That is the interesting) You get to choose what car you want to drive and then compete in a race. Again using touch screen and motion base (tilt your phone) to control your car. Just like any other racing game there is on the market.

Rating ***

Guitar Rock, again touch control, You play a rock star, the game is while listing to music, colour disc will scroll down, and you have to hit the button at the time when the discs will arrive. Hit it at the right time you score points as in $$ while hitting it at the wrong time you get the booo’s. There are 5 buttons at the bottom, and even with the large Nokia 8500 screen, it’s pretty cram, thus leading to miss hitting the buttons. A very mindless game to me, purposeless other than to while away the time.

Asphalt 4 Elite racing, is not a politically correct game, it is a “fun” game, not to be taken seriously, you score points, and boost by ramming things, cars among other etc while racing around a circuit. You use the touch screen to control and drive the car, to boost the car speed you just top the boost icon. Good for mindless fun, for a few minutes while waiting for your wife to go shopping, or picking up your children. For People who like’s racing this is one game to keep you company.

DJ Mix Tour, the only portrait mode game in this collection it is exactly like the Guitar Rock, it can be played one hand, however I find that this game is more enjoyable. , the game is while listing to music, colour disc will scroll down, and you have to hit the button at the time when the discs will arrive. Hit it at the right time you score points while hitting it at the wrong time you get the booo’s. There are 3 buttons even in the portrait mode, it is place nicely. It’s totally mindless fun to while away the time.
