It’s good news for the Budget / Backpack Travellers who is looking for accommodation in Batu Ferringhi In Penang.
Penang Batu Ferringhi town is evolving, from what was basically a 4 star stretch of Beach Hotels with some beach comber type of establishment with upmarket restaurant, Batu Ferringhi is moving more towards Patong Beach environment where there are shops and stalls offering tourist and local facilities as hawker food for all price range. This has been happening over the past few year, and it’s a move in the right direction.
A new budget hotel has just open up, in my estimate its around a 30 to 40 room, located at some 8 shop houses located some distance away from the beach, “hidden” from the main road. Its opening rates is an affordable RM88/- per nite, I have not gone in to look at the rooms but from what I can see outside it’s not bad, especially now with the authorities moving part of the Pasar Malam to the car park just opposite this budget hotel. Now tourist do have a choice.
