Surprisingly almost all of the Chinese Kopi Tiam in Penang is close for the First Day of the Chinese New Year, even with all the news of bad economic times. However Supermarkets, Hypermarkets and Departmental store are open during the first day of the New Year this year.
In Pulau Tikus all the coffee shop is close other then this Wan Tan Mee Stall opposite the Police Station. Buleh Makan is all I can and please pay KL price. Wan Tan Mee at RM3.30, Breakfast for 2 adults, 1 Kid, 2 toddlers with packet drinks came up to RM16.80 this fine day.
Wife had the Standard Wan Tan Mee, I had a bowl of Koey Teow Dry which was soopy enough to float a sampan.
