Aquarium 1

Aquarium 1

What started as an impromptu, self funded team spirit building project for my staff at the workplace, ended up with the bosses’ official sanction and funding.

Overall the objective remains the same, by using available resources, to set up a fish tank at the work place, as a team, with priority of using recycle materials and natural items.

For a start, we salvage an old glass tank (3ft) from the store, some 40 year old corals that were sitting at home, recycle some pebbles, shells, and purchase a wet dry filter with pump. As it’s an old tank, we re-silicon all the edges, and once dry, we place a thick Styrofoam sheet below the tank.

The Tank was filled using filtered water, and after a period of two hours, we inspected the tank for leeks, as everything was fine we then place the wet dry filter, put in the pebbles, shells and corals and topped up the tank and then started the pump. We place some Guppies in the tank and left it alone till the next day.

The next day, as the guppies was happily swimming in the tank, we got adventurous, We headed in to the Fish Shop and purchase us a bunch of small fishes, and we populate the tank with them, we also added an air pump to ensure the tank got oxygenated properly.

That when the Bosses ask us, what else we do we need, gave the "Project Manager "some advice and handed over some cash.
